HISTORY

A group of lawyers from Georgia Tech got together in the fall of 2007 and thought that it would be beneficial to them, personally and professionally, to have a means in which they can connect with each other and with Georgia Tech, including the students at Tech and in law school.  The lawyers were David Reed, Chason  Carroll, Manny Arora, Aaron Bourgeois, and Rob Madayag.  They contacted the Alumni Association and, in February of 2008, their charter to be an affinity group under the GT Alumni Association was approved.

PURPOSE

When future lawyers and legal workers graduate from Tech, their connection to both the university and to their fellow alumni is often reduced, if not broken.  The goal of the Georgia Tech Bar Association is to help fellow alumni of Tech connect with each other on a personal and professional level.  We hope to provide the means for social interaction as well as legal networking, including referrals.  Additionally, the Georgia Tech Bar Association works closely with the Alumni Association and the admnistration of Tech to provide ways in which GTBA members can interact with the school and its students.  And finally, the GTBA works with the Alumni Association to help increase giving in the annual Roll Call.  Roll Call is a vital component that provides the means in which the Alumni Association can provide funds and services to the school and its alumni.
